A non-profit association, SCSFA is headquartered in Columbia and works in conjunction with the South Carolina Department of Agriculture.
SCSFA is governed by a board of directors that reflects the diversity of its membership. Regional meetings are held quarterly in the lowcountry, midlands and upstate areas and are open to all members.

Membership in the South Carolina Specialty Foods Association is open to businesses and organizations that are involved in or interested in the specialty food industry.
Membership benefits include:
• Participation in national and statewide generic promotions
• Sharing and subsidizing the cost of trade shows and promotional campaigns
• Joint marketing programs
• Technical assistance
• Resource information exchange
• Networking opportunities
• Mentoring
• Listing on the SCSFA website
• Members-only email updates on industry news and opportunities
SCSFA offers two membership levels. Active members are businesses that are involved in the manufacturing or production of a food product.
